Equipment List for Photography Workshops

This is a list of equipment I recommend for outdoor photography.  A complete list of required equipment for specific workshops will be provided to participants upon registration for any event.

Required equipment for all Workshops;

  • DSLR Camera with lens
  • Spare Battery
  • Memory Card
  • Camera Manual
  • Lens cleaning cloth

Recommended equipment;

Beginning Workshops

  • Tripod
  • Cable release/remote shutter release
  • Lens or lenses covering the focal lengths from 18 mm to 200 mm
  • Extra memory
  • Camera backpack

Advanced Workshops

  • Tripod
  • Cable release/remote shutter release
  • Lens or lenses covering the focal lengths from 18 mm to 200 mm
  • Extra memory
  • Neutral Density and Graduated Neutral density filters
  • A polarizing filter
  • Camera backpack

Optional equipment;

  • Rain cover (can also be used when the surf is high to protect your camera)

 Clothing;

( I recommend dressing in layers appropriate to the season for all outdoor activities.)

  • Jacket or warm clothing
  • Sturdy shoes
  • Hat or bandana
  • Sunglasses

Other items to consider;

  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellant
  • Drinking water
  • Snacks
  • Flashlight/headlamp
